Campers spend a week at Loucon learning ways to grow as Christians, learning about others, and gaining the skills for Christian living. Campers participate in swimming, hiking, hayrides, campfire, low elements, Zipline, games, archery, Bible study, and worship.

Lisa Garrison-Ragsdale

Lisa Garrison-Ragsdale has been working with children and youth since the 1980s. As a youth, Lisa helped with children’s church, Vacation Bible School and attended United Methodist church camp in Alabama. As a college student, she taught Sunday school, helped with Vacation Bible School at Auburn UMC and was the leader of a covenant group (Bible study) for high school girls at Frazer Memorial UMC in Montgomery, Alabama. After graduation from Auburn University, Lisa moved to San Antonio, Texas where she served as the Jr. High Youth Director at Coker UMC. There she led retreats, served as a counselor at camps and mission trips with UMARMY and other organizations, programmed events at church including mid-week services and confirmation classes. In 1995 Lisa moved to Ohio, and continued her service with children and youth as a volunteer at Brandt UMC where she taught Sunday school, helped organize Vacation Bible School and other church outreach events for children and youth. She moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1997 and attended King Avenue UMC. In 2000, Lisa was invited to serve as the Youth Coordinator as a part of the Spiritual Formation Team. During the three years she served in that capacity, Lisa programmed church events for youth ages 5-12th grade, helped with Vacation Bible School, taught Sunday school, led retreats, lock-ins, mid-week Bible study and confirmation classes. More recently Lisa lived in Leitchfield, Kentucky and taught the 1-3 grade Sunday school class, led the mid-week JAM (Jesus and Me) preschool class and organized Vacation Bible School at Leitchfield UMC. Currently Lisa works at TrollandToad.com as the receptionist and an HR/Accounting assistant. Lisa’s first served as a Dean at Camp Loucon in 2010 and she was blessed beyond words by the staff, counselors and campers that were in her Discovery Camp! In addition to being a Dean for Camp Loucon, she also volunteered at NewSong Music Festival. Lisa is looking forward to being Dean at Adventure 3 this summer and knows that mighty things happen this summer!
