My Loucon ExperienceDecember 19, 2011
When I think about all of the places I have been in my life, there is none as memorable as Loucon. I have been going to Loucon since I was born for retreats with my family and jumped at the chance to attend summer camp as soon as I was old enough. In middle school, I went to youth choir camp and met so many amazing new friends. Also during this time I first saw the staff presentation, in which the Loucon summer staff acts out how Christ’s final days on Earth may have been. It was at this presentation that I truly met God. I continued to watch the staff presentation over the years, but now got the chance to see other kids meet God for the first time or to rededicate their lives to Him, while I was in youth choir on the high school level. While in youth choir I met some of the greatest friends that I have ever known, as well as having the opportunity to bring my best friend to the place that truly made me who I am. I have had not only serious moments at Loucon, but too many extraordinarily fun moments to count. I have made inside jokes, gotten sugar headaches at the canteen, sang praises to God, and learned a lot about the type of person that I want to become. Loucon is a breath of fresh air both literally and spiritually, and I hope to one day have the opportunity to help other kids come closer to God the way so many people at Loucon helped me.
