Sr. High Summit - Week 4
Tracks Offered For This Camp
For campers who feel especially creative! This track offers campers the opportunity to take craft time to the next level. As well as participating in their favorite adventure activities, campers can expect to spend about 2 hours a day working with an artist in various forms of media, learning new techniques and mastering old ones!
No experience, just enthusiasm, required! This track has an additional cost of $50 for the cost of materials. Available to Middle School Summit, and Sr. High Summit.
Whether you're experienced at the sport of disc golf or have never played but are interested in learning how, this track is sure to be a ton of fun. Campers will spend about two hours each day learning the game, techniques, and best of all playing on Loucon's brand new 9-hole disc golf course! Available to Middle School Summit, & Sr. High Summit.

For campers who love photography! In addition to adventure activities, campers can expect to spend about 2 hours a day working with a professional photographer who will teach, encourage, and inspire. Come be challenged to learn, grow, and see Creation in a whole new way! Available to Sr. High Summit.
For campers who love to play! In addition to all traditional adventure activities, campers who choose this track will spend 2 hours a day learning and playing different sports. Specific sports are selected daily. Teamwork and good sportsmanship required! Available to Middle School Summit, and Sr. High Summit.
For campers who love to be on the lake! In addition to traditional adventure activities, campers can expect to spend 2-3 hours a day on the lake participating in water skiing, knee boarding, wake-boarding, and tubing. This track has an additional cost of $100 and fills up fast! See you on the water! Available to Sr. High Summit.
Activities Available To This Camp
The Zipline is one of Loucon's most loved adventure activities and often many groups' favorite experience. Harness up and enjoy the ride!
For Retreat Guests: This is a 2 hour activity for groups of around 20. Participants must be in fifthgrade or older.
Similar to Low Elements, Team-building games are designed and facilitated to bring groups together as a team as well as grow spiritually. Staff utilize equipment and innovative games to teach and bond.
For Retreat Guests: Typically a 1-2 hour activity for fifth graders and up.
On a hot day, nothing sounds better than cooling off in the pool! Loucon operates the two pools at the onsite Shaver Aquatic Center. A Loucon lifeguard is required for this activity.
For Retreat Guests: Swimming sessions can vary in time by group needs and availability. Pools are open seasonally and are typically closed after the first weekend in August.
Located at Loucon's own Moss Tower, a session of rappelling can do wonders for bringing a group closer together and stretching them emotionally and spiritually. Rappelling will challenge participants to face their fears and invest in one another.
For Retreat Guests: This is a 20 person, 2 hour activity for those seventh grade and up.
Loucon's mega slide is an awesome activity for campers of all ages! Bring your swim suit and take a ride down this 200 foot water slide.
For Retreat Guests: The mega slide is a 1 hour activity without number restrictions. It can be scheduled for longer amounts of time if desired and is subject to weather cancellations.
Low Elements is a great way to bring a group together and turn them in to a team. Loucon's Low Elements course is designed to help groups work with one another as well as grow personally and spiritually. Participants utilize teamwork, trust, communication, and many other skills to get through the challenges, obstacles, and puzzles facing them.
For Retreat Guests: This is a 2 hour, 20 person activity for fifth grade and up.
Loucon's High Ropes Course is a team challenge course that takes place 30+ feet in the trees and guaranteed to bring teams closer together and challenge them in new ways! This activity is great for youth groups, leadership groups, businesses, and any team!
For Retreat Guests: The course takes approximately 4 hours and is limited to 20 participants per session. Participants must be in the ninth grade or older
Loucon Folkdancing is a tradition among both summer campers and many of our retreat guests. A Loucon staff member teaches each dance before starting the song; no dancing experience required! This is a great activity to loosen up the group and leave them begging for more.
For Retreat Guests: A folkdance session lasts about an hour and can be for any size group (the more, the merrier!) Ability to facilitiate this activity is dependent on size of group and space available.
The Dangle Duo is an excellent activity that fosters communication and team trust. Participants climb a giant, suspended ladder to reach the top rung, stand up, and grab the wire above them. This is done by only using each other's help and the assistance of facilitator belay. The Dangle Duo is constructed so that the rungs get further apart as the participant ascends.
For Retreat Guests: Participants must be seventh grade or older. This is a 2 hour activity for 16 people.
Moss Tower, home to both climbing and rappelling, will challenge group members to stretch themselves, while their team learns the value of support and encouragement.
Participants climb on a traditional vertical wall where they will learn some fundamental climbing techniques and attempt to reach the top of the tower. Advanced climbing groups may request our advanced climbing wall, which adds overhangs and convex climbing to the challenge.
For Retreat Guests: This is a 2 hour activity for 20 participants fifth grade and up.Participants of all ages enjoy paddling around on Loucon lake in canoes in this traditional camp activity.
For Retreat Guests: Activity time can be 1-4 hours, depending on availability and group preference. A Loucon lifeguard must be present to facilitate this activity.
Try your hand at archery with a member of the trained Loucon staff! All equipment is provided.
Must be in the fifth grade or older to participate. Archery is only available during summer camp.
About this Camp
9th-12th graders take their walk with Christ to the next level in this 6 day, 5 night week of camp. New to this age group are high ropes and dangle duo in addition to all the adventure activities offered to younger camps. A strong commitment to community and fellowship make Sr. High camp feel like home by the first night for seasoned Loucon veterans and first time campers alike. Loucon traditions like folkdancing, canteen time, crafts, and a hayride are not forgotten, but additions like capture the flag ball and the ability to personalize their camp experience with activity options are also offered. Campers learn what it means to be accepted, loved, and changed by Christ through open discussion time, family group, and nightly worship.
